Our Story

A Family Story Built In Hardwood And Natural Patterns

A few years ago, a major health challenge changed our family's life forever.

My dad survived, but the experience left him dependent on oxygen and unable to handle many of the physical demands that come with running a farm. Lisa and I were working in construction and remodeling at the time, and we knew we needed to build a business that would allow us to stay close to home and help when we were needed.

Construction had already given us an unexpected advantage. Over the years, we became fascinated by exotic hardwoods while searching for specialty materials for custom projects. That passion led us to discover that our hometown is one of the largest import hubs for exotic hardwoods in the United States. Suddenly, we had access to incredible species from around the world—woods most people never get the chance to see in person.

What started as a love for beautiful lumber became an obsession with pairing unique woods with artwork. Leopardwood. Zebrawood. Wenge. Bocote. Every species had its own personality and story.

Then we discovered the patterns.

The first time we watched branching paths move through a piece of hardwood, they reminded us of roots searching for water and branches reaching toward sunlight. The grain seemed to guide the path in its own direction. We shared our early work online, and the encouragement we received gave us the confidence to keep going. A Facebook group grew into a community, and that community grew into Blazin' Frames.

Before long, we were loading up our work and heading across the country to music festivals, learning as we went and meeting incredible people along the way.

Today, every frame is still built by hand in our Alabama shop. We carefully select each board, highlight the natural character of the wood, and create one-of-a-kind paths that can never be duplicated.

What began as a way to stay close to family became a way to create something meaningful for people all over the country.
